Research Interests
My research interests focus on the psychosocial aspects of chronic conditions, with a particular emphasis on diabetes. I explore mental health in diabetes, including depression, cognitive impairment, and family dynamics. My professional work spans both clinical practice as a psychotherapist and academic research, where I engage with public health initiatives that improve patient engagement.
What brought you to GREMAP?
My decision to join GREMAP stems from my commitment to improving health outcomes for older adults, particularly those facing the challenges of diabetes, depression, and cognitive impairment. My research focuses on the link between diabetes and dementia, and how mental health issues like depression exacerbate cognitive decline in this population. GREMAP’s interdisciplinary approach to mental health and its emphasis on addressing health disparities across the lifespan align with my goal of developing targeted interventions for older adults managing these complex conditions.
What do you like to do outside of work/school?
In my free time, I love spending time with my family, especially enjoying long walks in the woods. I’m also passionate about dancing and singing, which bring me joy and relaxation. Additionally, I enjoy reading, particularly on topics related to psychology and health, along with enjoying quality time with friends.
