Research Interests
I am interested in studying the connections between physical and mental health, especially in adolescence when both the brain and body are developing. I eventually want to be an adolescent psychiatrist and would like to delve deeper into truly understanding all factors of health so that I can be a more effective healthcare provider.
What brought you to GREMAP?
I am a part of UROP (the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program), which gave me the opportunity to find projects that aligned with what I want to research. This led me to the Diabetes and Mental Health Initiative and GREMAP in general. I have many family and friends with diabetes and other chronic illnesses which have had not only physical but mental effects, and this project allows me to study the intersections and interactions of those effects. Diabetes especially is a chronic condition with a lot of stigma and I am eager to help clear some of the misinformation and hopefully bridge some of the disparities that people with diabetes experience in terms of healthcare.
What do you like to do outside of work/school?
I am in the University of Michigan’s Men’s Glee Club and I act with the RC Players. I am also president of the East Quad Hall Council.
