Research Interests

I am interested in studying health disparities in marginalized communities. My interests are fairly broad from mental health to environmental health to maternal health. My interest lies in equity work in certain subpopulations of interest, especially refugees and undocumented individuals, and Black Americans. 

What brought you to GREMAP?

I have an interest in social epidemiology and GREMAP seemed like a way to get involved in that sort of work. In terms of DMH specifically, I have a background in psychology, so mental health work is of interest, but the intersection with chronic diseases like diabetes was intriguing.

What do you like to do outside of work/school?

I like to listen to podcasts, painting, shopping, and going to the movies. I highly recommend seeing a movie in the Michigan Theatre Auditorium! It’s gorgeous.
