I went to VCU for undergrad and received my bachelors in exercise science. After trying out different fields and deciding against them, my last semester at VCU I did an internship in the inner city of Richmond working with HIV prevention and education. Through that experience, I developed a passion for Epidemiology, particularly infectious diseases. I decided to go to the University of South Florida for my Master of Public Health due to their strong global health program. I came back to VCU doing research to start my career off in public health. My passion is to work as part of a team to create a healthier community, state and nation. I am very interested in researching and then closing health disparities. In my spare time, I love to lift weights and run. I also love to travel and hope to visit 30 countries in my lifetime.
