Dr. Mezuk to give keynote address on prediabetes and mental health

Dr. Briana Mezuk will be a keynote speaker at McGill University’s Conference on Prediabetes and Mental Health.

This conference, which will be held November 12-13 in Montreal, Quebec, will bring together researchers, policy-makers, and other stake-holders to share knowledge on the role mental health may play in the transition from prediabetes to type II diabetes, and to identify future research priorities in this area.

Dr. Jeannie Concha wins Summer 2015 Travel Award

Dr. Jeannie Concha has received a Summer 2015 Travel Award from the Virginia Commonwealth University Postdoctoral Association.

Dr. Concha will be presenting at the Collaborating across Borders V, the Interprofessional Journey conference in Roanoke, VA on “Interprofessional Education to Promote Culturally Competent Diabetes Care”.

Congratulations to Prachi Desai, VCU MPH Graduate!

Congratulations to Prachi Desai, MPH on her graduation from the VCU Master’s in Public Health program! Prachi presented her capstone titled “Evaluation of the Greater Richmond Area YMCA Diabetes Control Program” at the MPH Capstone and Poster Presentation Forum on May 1 and graduated the following week on May 8. She has accepted a position as the Waterborne Disease Surveillance and Outreach Assistant in the Division of Environmental Epidemiology at the Virginia Department of Health.
