Education:

MSW, Social Work, Virginia Commonwealth University, in progress.

MA, Anthropology, University of Virginia, 2010.

BA, Philosophy, Cabrini College, 2006.

Research Interests/Current Projects:

I am interested in pursuing epidemiological research on psycho-immunology and the influence of environmental and psychosocial factors on the expression of genes responsible for mental illness, such as bipolar, depression, schizophrenia, etc. I am also interested in tracing relationships between child maltreatment/abuse/trauma and correlated psychopathologies in later life.

What brought you to VCU and/or Public Health:

The wide scope of interdisciplinary research opportunities available at VCU attracted me to the school and to the Public Health program, in particular.

Hobbies or an interesting factoid:

I spend my spare time with my family -- hiking and traveling, cooking together and playing games. I also enjoy practicing and teaching yoga.
