Research Interests/Current Projects:
Kristen is interested in Gerontology, specifically the social and psychological aspects of aging and late-life transitions. Other interests include the impact of residential segregation on immigrant health outcomes and other social determinants of health.
What brought you to VCU and/or Public Health:
Before starting the MPH program at VCU, Kristen worked for a community based organization that focused on HIV, STI, and viral hepatitis prevention. She currently splits her time between STD surveillance at the Virginia Department of Health and working as a research assistant for Dr. Mezuk.
Hobbies or an interesting factoid:
Kristen lived in Eastern African for 18 years before coming to the US for college. Kristen also enjoys designing unofficial logos for GREMAP.
