Research Interests/Current Projects:
Joseph is interested in examining health disparities in vulnerable populations, specifically how the built environment and social characteristics of neighborhoods relate to cardiovascular diseases and the metabolic syndrome.
What brought you to VCU and/or Public Health:
Joseph participated in the Post-Baccalaureate Research Experience Program at VCU, where he was given the opportunity to work with Dr. Briana Mezuk and Dr. Yi Ning. Prior to the program, he worked as a research assistant and interned within government settings at both the city and county levels focusing on improving vaccination rates within the community.
Hobbies or an interesting factoid:
Staying active, watching TV shows, and listening to podcasts.
